Sigourney Weaver — the legend behind Alien and Avatar — has officially confirmed she’ll appear in Amazon’s upcoming live‑action Tomb Raider series. She revealed she’s playing a mysterious character named Wallace, and she’s already vibing with the scripts from the creative team.
If Weaver is the power move, Sophie Turner is the core bet. Amazon officially confirmed back in September that the former Game of Thrones star will headline the series as Lara Croft, with the announcement coming via Prime Video’s own channels and the official Tomb Raider site.
The other big casting move that dropped shortly before Weaver’s confirmation is Martin Bobb‑Semple, the British actor known for All American: Homecoming, One of Us Is Lying and Netflix’s Free Rein.
With Weaver’s prestige, a young lead ready to redefine Croft, and a supporting cast built for scale, Amazon is clearly engineering Tomb Raider as a flagship action franchise.
Huge thanks to World of Tomb Raider for the video excerpt where Weaver confirmed her role.
