Sigourney Weaver has shared fresh insight into her role in Amazon’s upcoming Tomb Raider live-action series, speaking with clear enthusiasm about the project and her collaboration with Phoebe Waller-Bridge.

In a recent interview with Kino, Weaver praised Waller-Bridge’s creative direction and described the series as an exciting blend of adventure and comedy. The actress said she is especially drawn to roles with a comedic edge, suggesting that the new adaptation may lean into a lighter, more character-driven tone while still preserving the action and mystery expected from the franchise.

Weaver will play Evelyn Wallis, a character she described as one of the most enjoyable roles she has taken on. She also confirmed that she has already filmed scenes with Sophie Turner, who stars as Lara Croft, though more scenes between the two actresses are still scheduled to be shot.

The Amazon MGM Studios and Crystal Dynamics series marks a new television chapter for the iconic video game franchise. The project was officially announced in May 2024, with filming beginning in January 2026.
