Lara Croft is back on our screens and about to return to our controllers. Starting today, December 11, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft – Season 2 is now streaming worldwide on Netflix, picking up the story right after the events of the Survivor trilogy and the first season of the animated series.

This second season sends Lara on a new, high‑stakes quest revolving around a trail of stolen African Orisha masks, forcing her to confront both supernatural threats and unresolved emotional baggage. The adventure spans several new locations, including New Orleans, Brazil, and Cuba, while pushing Lara closer than ever to the iconic, globe‑trotting raider fans remember from the classic games.

The voice cast returns in force: Hayley Atwell once again leads the series as Lara Croft, joined by Allen Maldonado as tech whiz Zip, Earl Baylon reprising Jonah, Karen Fukuhara as Sam Nishimura, and O‑T Fagbenle as the mysterious Eshu.

Behind the scenes, showrunner and executive producer Tasha Huo continues to steer the creative vision, using the series to bridge the gap between the modern Survivor trilogy and the classic ’90s timeline.

Crucially, Season 2 isn’t just another spin‑off—it’s positioned as a narrative precursor to the next mainline Tomb Raider game. The show is part of Crystal Dynamics’ larger push to unify the franchise’s various timelines, setting up who Lara is and where she is emotionally and physically before the next chapter in the games.

That makes today a double celebration for fans: later this evening at The Game Awards, Crystal Dynamics is set to unveil the future of Tomb Raider, finally giving players a first look at the new title that the Netflix series has been quietly paving the way for.

In other words: binge Lara’s latest animated adventure now, then tune in to The Game Awards to see where she raids next.
